Chicago Formatting Style

Chicago style, also known as the Chicago Manual of Style (CMS), is a widely used citation and formatting style in the academic and publishing world. It was first developed by the University of Chicago Press in 1906 and has since undergone several revisions, with the 17th edition being the most recent as of my last knowledge update in September 2021. The Chicago Manual of Style offers guidelines for writing, citing sources, and formatting documents, and it is particularly popular in history, literature, and the arts.

1. Title Page:

In Chicago style, a title page is typically used for longer papers, theses, and dissertations. It includes the title of the paper, your name, the course or class information, your instructor’s name, and the date.

2. Page Layout:

Chicago style typically requires one-inch margins on all sides of the page, double-spacing, and readable 12-point font, such as Times New Roman or Arial.

3. Page Numbers:

Page numbers should be placed in the top right corner of each page, either centered or flush with the right margin.
