Scenario

Your presentation to the leadership panel of your company was well received. Now you must create a presentation for a wider audience—stakeholders from inside and outside the company—and include your decisions and recommendations, which were approved by the leadership panel. Remember that your presentation must convey professionalism and be visually appealing as well as informative.

What to Submit

To complete this project, you must submit a PowerPoint presentation of 10 to 15 slides including speaker notes. Sources should be cited according to APA style.

This project has three required parts for you to consider before getting started.

Part 1: Construct a Business Presentation

Your PowerPoint presentation will consist of 10–15 slides with speaker notes included on each slide. To help you get started, use the PowerPoint presentation you developed for Project Two and make the necessary revisions to effectively present your story to the stakeholders who will be attending the meeting.

Your presentation is an opportunity to use your research to tell the story of the company’s diversification strategy using data. As you’ll recall from Module Four, a data story is a narrative used to explain how your data supports the recommendations you are making. The narrative has the structure of a story, including a conflict or crisis and a resolution. By telling your story and using data visualizations to illustrate your points, you will provide your audience the context it needs to understand your recommended diversification strategy.

As you create your PowerPoint slides, keep in mind that your presentation is intended for a wider audience that now includes external stakeholders such as customers, investors, and suppliers. This means you’ll need to clearly explain the key message about diversifying your company so that it can be grasped by both internal and external audiences.

Part 2: Communicate Your Decision About Diversification

In your presentation, you will illustrate your key points using data visualizations. The visualizations you used in Project Two should give you a good starting point. However, keep in mind that your audience may need some extra context to better understand the visualizations you choose to present.

As you communicate your decision about how to diversify the company, you will use your analysis of the data and your research to determine the likelihood of success for your strategy. You will also need to discuss the impact that moving to the new industry will have on the company—including its internal and external stakeholders.

Part 3: Detail Your Recommendations Moving Forward

To complete your presentation for Project Three, you will summarize your research findings. In this summary, you will describe what the company will do moving forward and explain the rationale behind your recommendations. Your summary should provide a conclusion and clear arguments for the reasoning behind your decisions.
